The Valley Heart on Brisbane’s northern fringe has a strong heritage and significant existing infrastructure. Development capacity was tested in this model to ensure the existing character was maintained, while maximised development opportunities were realised. The model enabled yielding studies to help determine optimum development limits.

This project created a focal public space in the heart of the CBD that addresses the unique local character without replicating specific heritage features. The inclusion of significant ‘built-in’ artworks by the local community has provided a sense of ownership to the residents.

The kiosk is the focal point of the boardwalk precinct on the Burnett River’s edge in the newly redeveloped Riverside Parklands. The design reflects a relaxed and informal style, with the lighweight, airy and translucent canopy enchaning the outdoor space, and the signage tower creating a strong visual identity.
