This redevelopment of the Amberley RAAF Base included new operational headquarter facilities for ground defence forces. Also included are new and refurbished maintenance facilities for frontline aircraft as well as refurbished administrative facilities for civilian and defence force personnel.

Batchelor Pad

The award-winning Batchelor Pad was constructed on a very tight budget using single skin construction and innovative passive cooling techniques found in many historic ‘top end’ houses. Set in an established garden in the town of Batchelor, the clients wanted high ceilings, light and airy spaces, and strong visual connections from all rooms to their gardens.

Tennant Creek Renal Clinic

The design for this state-of-the-art clinic successfully combines the high-tech requirements of a renal clinic with materials, images and scale that are familiar to the predominantly indigenous clients, and consideration of cultural requirements. Oxenham Apartments

Mode Design undertook the initial master plan to trasnform a surplus school facility into affordable housing and community facilities. Designing within the constraints of the site master plan, the project incorporates climatic responsive principles and a contemporary style of architecture for low-cost housing that is competitive with market-rate development.

Valley Heart Capacity Model

The Valley Heart on Brisbane’s northern fringe has a strong heritage and significant existing infrastructure. Development capacity was tested in this model to ensure the existing character was maintained, while maximised development opportunities were realised. The model enabled yielding studies to help determine optimum development limits.

Wesleyan Methodist Church
